Open Source Firmware

System76 Open Firmware increases security and shortens boot times by minimizing the firmware’s code. Meanwhile, System76 Open EC Firmware grants you access and control over important functionality such as your keyboard, fans, and battery. You can customize your keyboard layout on any computer with System76 Open EC Firmware using the System76 Keyboard Configurator application.

Encryption out of the box

Users have the option to encrypt their drive with ease during the initial setup. Pop!_OS uses a combination of LVM and LUKS encryption to ensure that only you hold the key to your computer.

Launch adds two additional high-speed USB-C ports to your workstation. Customize your keyboard across multiple layers using the System76 Keyboard Configurator application (for Linux, Windows, and macOS), and match your keycaps to the new layout with the included key-and-switch puller.
